Kazakhstan to be banned from MHL?
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Minor Hockey League (MHL) is set to enact new rules in the upcoming 2015-2016 season, Kazinform refers to Sports.kz.
According to Managing director of the league Dmitry Efimov, the new rules will be approved at the session of the MHL Board in April. "Prospects aged 16-20 will be eligible to play in the league. Only young players born in 1996 or younger will be permitted to play," he said. While promising players from foreign countries were formerly permitted to play at the MHL level, it looks like now they will be banned. "Players who have no right to represent Russian teams won't be eligible to play in the league," Mr. Efimov added. NOTE: Currently the MHL unites more than 60 clubs representing cities of Russia, Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova and Poland.
