Kazakhstan to brace for thundershowers Aug 15

Most of Kazakhstan is set to brace today for rains, thunderstorms, hail and squalls with heavy downpours predicted in the country’s north. High wind is in store throughout Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.

Sweltering temperatures are expected in Almaty, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan, Abai, Zhetysu, Karaganda and Turkistan regions locally.

The fire threat remains high today in Atyrau, Abai, Ulytau, Zhetysu, Karaganda, West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, Mangistau and Almaty region.

The extreme high fire threat is in effect in Mangistau, Kyzylorda, Turkistan, Almaty, Zhambyl, Ulytau, Zhetysu, Aktobe, Atyrau, Kostanay, east Kazakhstan, Karaganda and Abai regions locally.
