Kazakhstan to build 50 'green energy' facilities

ASTANA. February 5. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan will build 50 facilities producing "green" energy, Kazakhstan Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev said at the meeting of the Government on Tuesday.

According to him, over the past two years 25 stations of renewable energy sources were built. This year it is planned to complete the construction of another 12 and begin implementation of 20 projects.

"The total capacity of renewable energy facilities will be 1,000 megawatts. In 2020, the share of "green" energy of the total electricity produced in the country will be about 13%," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

According to him, most of the projects are implemented through private investment.
