Kazakhstan to build large wind farm
Kazakh Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev expressed readiness to hold talks with French Electricite de France on the construction of an atomic power station in Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency reports.
He added as part of the official visit of the French President to Kazakhstan the sides are expected to debate a wide range of issues. The first cluster of issues focuses on the construction of a 1 GW wind farm combined with an energy storage system. Earlier, the intergovernmental agreement on countering the impact of global warming was signed.
The minister did not foreclose the possibility of the constriction of the atomic power station in Kazakhstan by a French company.
Besides, cooperation between Kazakhstan and Electricite de France will be debated as part of the visit of the French delegation. The company was included in the list of potential suppliers for the project of the atomic power station construction in Kazakhstan. He said Kazakhstan is ready to hold talks if France suggests.
