Kazakhstan to continue supplying locomotives to Turkmenistan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan entrepreneurs have reached an agreement with the government of Turkmenistan on the supply of locomotives, the press service of JSC "KAZNEX INVEST" reports.

Kazakh entrepreneurs made a presentation of capabilities of our country's enterprises for Turkmen authorities and businessmen. The event has been organized by JSC "KAZNEX INVEST" together with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan. In particular, the domestic manufacturer of diesel locomotives JSC "Lokomotiv Kurastyru zauyty" held talks with the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan. As a result, the parties have agreed to continue supplying locomotives to the market of Turkmenistan. It should be noted that over the last 5 years the plant has produced 280 locomotives. 11 locomotives have been exported to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine. Representatives of LLP "Aktobe rail and beam plant" held a meeting with the Ministry of Railways, Civil Engineering and Architecture of Turkmenistan. Following the talks, the Turkmen side expressed interest in the purchase of rails and shape iron for the construction of railways and bridges in the country. In addition, Turkmen Ministry of Railways has confirmed Kazakh enterprises' participation in the public tender for the supply of rails to Turkmenistan.
