Kazakhstan to continue switch to 12-year education model - Minister Sarinzhipov
He made the announcement prior to the enlarged meeting of the ministry in Astana on Thursday. Minister Sarinzhipov also reminded that President Nursultan Nazarbayev had given corresponding instructions to continue gradual transition to the 12-year education system at the enlarged session of the Government on Wednesday. "We are to train personnel for our future economy and provide decent education. We will continue to develop educational programs. As for the structure of secondary education, we will put forward new proposals in a month, as instructed by President Nazarbayev. We will continue gradual switch to the 12-year education model within the existing 11-year model plus 1 year of pre-school education," he noted. According to Minister Sarinzhipov, presently 95% of all children aged 6 in Kazakhstan do pre-school training. "I believe, we will modernize the pre-school education program first, and, then, we'll see," he added.
