Kazakhstan to continue using +7 telephone code
The Kazakh Government adopted a resolution “On signing the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on joint use of the 7th zone of world numbering” on October 26, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The agreement designates code ranges for the 7th zone of world numbering for Kazakhstan and Russia.
“Approve the attached draft agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on joint use of the 7th zone of world numbering,” the resolution reads.
The resource of numbering from the common reserve is assigned to each of the parties by means of concluding a separate agreement between the parties. The countries in question assign the code ranges for the 7th zone.
The agreement is concluded for an indefinite period of time and comes into force from the date of receipt of the last written notice of the fulfillment of domestic procedures.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan had refused to switch to +997 telephone code due to a number of financial and technical problems.
