Kazakhstan to exert every effort to provide fair elections: K.Tokayev

VIENNA. February 26. KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ The OSCE member states as well as the CIS, EU and the USA support the idea of early presidential elections in Kazakhstan. We will exert every effort to provide open, free and fair presidential campaign meeting all international standards.

Kazakh Senate Speaker, Vice President of the OSCE PA Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has made it public at the session of the OSCE PA Permanent Committee in Vienna today.

The Head of the Kazakh delegation informed the world community that at the invitation of the Kazakh Government Petros Efthimiou, OSCE PA President, decided to send an observation mission, headed by Croatian Diplomat Tonino Picula to Kazakhstan. "The Kazakh side will fully support the delegation in observing the upcoming elections," K.Tokayev said.

The Kazakh Speaker also informed the parliamentary delegations of the OSCE member states about the main directions of the social and economic policy of the Kazakh Government within the modernization and post-crisis industrialization of the economy.

"Kazakhstan places special emphasis on implementation of long-term projects in the key spheres of the state life paying special attention to development and modernization of the educational system and healthcare as well as creation of new jobs in the country," he noted.
