Kazakhstan to export nearly 10,000 tons of meat to Russia in 2014

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan is to export nearly 10,000 tons of cooled meet to Russia in 2014, according to first deputy chairman of KazAgro JSC Kairat Aituganov.

"We will step up meat exports to Russia up to 60,000 tons by 2016. This year we are expected to export 9,700 tons," Mr. Aituganov told the Thursday press conference in Astana. "Back in the Soviet period, Kazakhstan used to export 200,000 tons of meat to Russia per year. So, I do believe that the 60,000 tons mark is quite achievable," he added.
