Kazakhstan to host 2013 World Boxing Championship among Adults

ASTANA. April 12. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan Boxing Federation signed an agreement with the International Boxing Association (AIBA) to hold the World Boxing Championship among adults in 2013 in Kazakhstan.

"For us, this is a landmark event. I think that holding the World Boxing Championship will provide an opportunity for our boxers, for the fans to see the best athletes from different countries," T. Kulibayev said Thursday at the signing ceremony in Astana.

According to him, the championship will increase the interest in boxing, as well as the quality of training of our athletes and make a huge contribution to the development of the domestic boxing.

The signing ceremony was attended by the President of AIBA Ching-Kuo Wu and head of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation Timur Kulibayev.

The decision on holding the World Championship among adults in 2013 will be held in Astana was unanimously adopted at a meeting of the AIBA Executive Committee in 2011.
