Kazakhstan to increase horse meat exports to France

Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin unveiled the Kazakh government’s plan to increase the country's horse meat exports, Kazinform News Agency reports.

First of all, we need to open the exports of our livestock products. Yesterday we discussed the issue of horse meat exports to France, since this is the country that consumes horse meat. We have 32 suppliers delivering [horse meat – edit] to Japan. We need to increase the volume of exports to France as well, he said in Akorda.

According to him, Kazakhstan’s horse-breeding industry shows high results, with Kushum and Mugalzhar breeds concentrated in the country’s western regions. He said the government plans to set up a research institute of horse-breeding in Aktobe, added Zhumangarin.
