Kazakhstan to launch flood forecasting system

Kazakhstan is set to launch Flood.garysh flood forecasting and modeling information system, Kazakh Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Nurzhan Nurzhigitov told the Government meeting.

The forecasting system will support in making decisions and assessing inundation risks.

The Minister said the system will be launched by the yearend.

The project is developed by the Kazakh Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Ministry.

Earlier the Government of Kazakhstan allocated 576 million tenge to conduct bathymetric surveys to prepare for flood season in line with the Kazakh President’s tasks.
