Kazakhstan to launch mobile pharmacies in remote rural settlements to raise access to medicines
Mobile pharmacies may be organized in Kazakhstan’s remote rural settlements, Kazinform News Agency quotes Vice Minister of Healthcare Yerzhan Nurlybayev as saying at the Government’s weekly meeting today.
According to him, density of population varies across Kazakhstan’s regions, due to the country’s climate and geographical location.
“Most of the regions have low density of population, therefore it is not always rational for private business and pharmaceutical industry to open a pharmacy in rural areas. This issue is of great importance for us. An appropriate proposal at the level of a draft law will let tackle the problem of availability of high-quality pharmaceuticals in the remote settlements,” he said.
Earlier, Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova said that 500.7bln tenge is spent in Kazakhstan on pharmacological support.
