Kazakhstan to launch screening program on detection of colorectal cancer in 2011
ALMATY. November 11. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ Kazakhstan is the first CIS state to launch the screening program detecting colorectal cancer in 2011. This has been announced at the international scientific-practical conference on development of modern oncology and radiology devoted to the 50th anniversary of the Kazakh Scientific and Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology held today in Almaty.
The main purpose of the program is to detect cancer before the clinical manifestation and reduce mortality. The screening will allow to identify early form of colorectal cancer and increase life expectancy of treated patients by five years as minimum.
