According to the Ministry of Enlightenment, the school’s curriculum will be based on the philosophy of the great Kazakh thinker and the idea of “five values,” with in-depth learning of the Kazakh language and literature.

The school will be opened on the ground of the Abai Republican Specialized Boarding School.

“The modernization of the Abai Republican Specialized Boarding School for Gifted Children will give a new impetus to further development of domestic education and enhancing spiritual and moral values among the younger generation. ABAI ULTTYQ MEKTEBI is called to become the center of enlightenment for a competitive youth in the modern educational space. The school will contribute to the formation of a new generation of patriots in accordance with the President’s Adal Azamat concept and Abai’s Tolyq Adam philosophy. The development of unified ABAY-Programme focusing on in-depth learning of the Kazakh language and several foreign languages is underway” says Kanybek Zhumashev, Chairman of the Secondary Education Committee.

The construction of the 900-seat school began last November. The new educational facility will include a boarding school, Teacher’s House, a library, a sports complex, a greenhouse and other premises.

The school is set to be commissioned by 2026.

As earlier reported, a new comfortable school was opened in Astana's Urker residential area.
