Kazakhstan to open its consulate in Russia’s Astrakhan, Russian consulate to be opened in Uralsk

Kazakhstan plans to open its consulate in Astrakhan, and Russian Federation is set to open its consulate in Uralsk, Kazinform News Agency reports.

An appropriate decree of the government has been placed on a portal of legislative acts of Kazakhstan.

“To approve the draft protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on opening the consulate of Kazakhstan in Astrakhan, Russia, and the consulate of Russia in Uralsk, Kazakhstan, as of October 9, 2000,” the document reads.

The consular district of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Astrakhan will include the territory of Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia, Northern Ossetia-Alania, Chechen Republic, Rostov region, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions. Orenburg, Samara and Saratov regions was excluded from the consular district.

Mangistau region was also excluded from the consular district of the Consulate General of Russia in Uralsk.
