Kazakhstan to promote agricultural processing projects
Kazakh Prime minister Alikhan Smailov chaired the meeting at the government discussing the issues of increasing the volume of processed products in the agro-industrial complex of the country, Kazinform News Agency cites primeminister.kz.
The meeting focused on increasing the agricultural capacity, launching new import-substitution investment projects as well as preferential crediting, subsidizing, conducting the spring field works, and others.
It was noted that the priority will be given to projects on processing of meat, grain, milk, and so on. In particular, promotion of the successful experience of North Kazakhstan region in implementing major industrial projects in the agro-industrial complex is to be continued.
The Kazakh prime minister stressed that the state will further provide comprehensive support to develop agriculture, with greater production of quality foods and creation of new jobs as the key objectives.
Smailov called for greater control over the effective utilization of the funds the state allocates, including using the available reserves, developing new approaches to subsidies, quality selection of projects and executing counter obligations by manufacturers.
