Kazakhstan to remain in OSCE Troika in 2011 - S. Abdykarimov

ASTANA. December 24. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Kazakhstan will remain in the OSCE Troika next year together with Lithuania and Ireland, Director of the OSCE Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ambassador at Large Serzhan Abdykarimov said it during an on line conference on 'BNews.kz' portal.

According to the OSCE rules the Troika is formed by the current, previous and future chair countries of the Organization. The Troika was formed by Greece, Kazakhstan and Lithuania in 2010. The Troika is called on to coordinate activities and plan them. It ensures continuity in the Organization's activity and advises the Chairman.

S. Abdykarimov also told about the plans of our country regarding its activity within the Organization. Thus, according to him, Kazakhstan will take part in all events held by the OSCE. There are 3-4 events planned at the Foreign Ministry level next year.

'It also means permanent participation of our Ambassador to the OSCE in Vienna in activities of the Organization, councils, visiting sessions and conferences', he added.

Besides, he emphasized that the main task for Kazakhstan now is the implementation of the Astana Declaration.
