Kazakhstan to set back the clock
The Kazakh technical regulation and metrology committee of the Trade and Integration Ministry prepared a draft on amendments to the decree of the Kazakh Government “On time tracking in the territory of Kazakhstan”. Thus, Kazakhstan will have one time zone, UTC+5, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The akimats of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent cities, as well as Akmola, Almaty, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan and Turkistan, Zhetysu, Abai and Ulytau regions, will set back the local time by one hour back on the night from February 29, 2024, to March 1, 2024 (at 00:00).
The decree takes after 10 calendar days from its official publication.
The public discussions are open until December 22.
