Kazakhstan to spend KZT7.2trl to service its national debt in next 3 years

Debt service amounted to 2.02 trillion tenge this year in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

Under the law on 2025/27 republican budget, debt service is poised to stand at 2 trillion 502 billion tenge in 2025, 2 trillion 294 billion tenge in 2026 and 2 trillion 432 billion tenge in 2027.

As of the last reporting date (October 1, 2024), the national debt of Kazakhstan amounted to 30 trillion 504.8 billion tenge (or 63.6 billion US dollars), including the external debt 7 trillion 217.0 billion tenge or 15.1 billion US dollars, informed the Kazakh Finance Ministry in its response to the Agency’s inquiry.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Baibazarov said that the country’s national debt stands at just over 23% of the GDP.
