Kazakhstan to vie against Latvia in Euro-2016 qualifier

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan's national football team will vie against Latvia in the first qualifier of Euro-2016, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakhstan Football Federation.

The match is set to be held in Kazakhstan on September 9. The Kazakh side will play two away games against the Netherlands and the Czech Republic on October 10 and 13 respectively. Later in mid November Kazakhstani footballers will face Turkey on their home ground.

The rest of the games are to continue in 2015. Kazakhstan is expected to play 5 out of 10 qualifying matches at home.

The qualifying draw was held at Nice's Palais des Congrès Acropolis on February 23. Kazakhstan landed in Group A together with the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Latvia and Iceland.
