Kazakhstan to welcome Nelson Mandela Month
ASTANA. May 3. KAZINFORM South Africa's Culture Days and a Month of the Nobel Prize winner Nelson Mandela, former President of the Republic of South Africa, will be held on May 24-30 in Kazakhstan, Ismail Ebrahim, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Africa, told the briefing after the meeting with his Kazakh counterpart.
South Africans will familiarize Kazakhstanis with their culture, household and national cuisine between May 24 - 30. The Month of Nelson Mandela is due to open on June 13 and last till late July. A man who spent 26 years in jail together with Nelson Mandela is believed to pay a visit to Kazakhstan. The ruling party of the Republic of South Africa and the African National Congress are to enter into cooperation with "Nur Otan" National Democratic Party within the framework of this event.
Nelson Mandela is the first ever South African President elected in a fully democratic election, human rights activist who spent 27 years in prison. The legendary politician became the Nobel Prize winner in 1993.
