Kazakhstan to work out long-term concept of cultural policy

The round table was also attended by MPs, representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Government, heads of central and local government agencies, subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Culture and Information, NGOs and the media.

Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Muhammed summarized the key outcomes of the Ministry's activity in 2013 and outlined the challenges related to the implementation of the President's Address «Kazakhstan's way-2050: common goal, common interests, common future».

It was emphasized that one of the most important strategic objectives of the Ministry is to develop a long-term concept of cultural policy aimed at establishing a competitive cultural mentality of the people and development of modern cultural clusters.

According to the Minister, for 20 years in the country have been opened more than 2 thousand cultural objects. Over the past ten years, the growth of theaters' attendance increased by almost 50 %, museums - 25%, libraries - 40%, concert organizations - 100% and cinemas - 400%.

The Minister noted that the President's instructions, an increase from July 1, 2015 salaries of civil servants fully applies to the sphere of culture and archives .

In Astana were opened "Astana Opera", Kazakh National Museum, the first National Art Gallery is being established. There have been set up new television channels "Kazsport" and Madeniet zhane Bilim".

Denoting the key achievements of the sector, the Minister outlined the terms of the tasks for the future , stressing that they must be based on integrity, quality and timely execution of orders given by the President in "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy.

Deputy Prime Minister Gulshara Abdykalikova summed up the board and gave ​​a number of specific requests and recommendations to the Ministry.
