Kazakhstan, Türkiye sign military coop plan for 2024
Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Colonel-General Ruslan Zhaksylykov had a number of meetings and visited military and industrial-defense facilities in Ankara, Kazinform News Agency reports.
In Anitkabir memorial complex, the head of the Kazakh delegation participated in a ceremony of laying a wreath to the Ataturk Monument as part of celebrations held on the occasion of the centenary of the Turkish republic.
Ruslan Zhaksylykov held negotiations with his Turkish counterpart Yaşar Güler. The sides discussed the current state of affairs and prospects for the bilateral relations in the spheres representing mutual interest.
Minister Zhaksylykov also met with Arif Cetin, Commander-in-Chief of the Gendarmerie of the Turkish Minister of Interior, and Haluk Görgün, President of the Defense Industry Council of this country.
At the Turkish Military Academy, Ruslan Zhaksylykov met with the cadets from Kazakhstan studying at this educational institution.
The Kazakh delegation also visited TUSAŞ Aerospace Industries specializing in manufacture of aviation equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Upon completion of the meeting, the Kazakh and Turkish sides signed a military cooperation plan for 2024.
As colonel Olzhas Khussainov, chief of the international cooperation department of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, noted, Kazakhstan and Türkiye share strong historical and cultural ties, which underlie successful development of the bilateral relations. The two countries’ ministries have established interaction in military science, education, and combat training.
