Kazakhstan uranium production amounted to 5,650 t in QII

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - According to the results of the second quarter of 2014 uranium production in Kazakhstan amounted to 5650 tons, which corresponds to the planned targets, the press service of "National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC reported.

"Kazatomprom" volume of uranium production, including shares in subsidiaries and affiliates, for the II quarter of 2014 amounted to 3,278 tons. "Ulbinskiy Metallurgical Plant" JSC in the II quarter of 2014 produced 476 tons of beryllium and 65 tons of tantalum products. In addition, it is emphasized that the "SARECO" LLP in the II quarter started shipping bulk concentrates on rare-earth metals for splitting and further delivering to Japan. "Astana Solar" LLP for the II quarter of the current year produced 9231 panels, which corresponds to 2.2 MW of electricity.
