Kazakhstan urges SCO to boost motor transportation coop

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov said addressing the meeting of the prime ministers' of the SCO member countries on Wednesday in Bishkek.

As the head of the Kazakh Government stressed 'Kazakhstan is interested in speeding up mutual approval of the principles of formation and functioning of mechanisms that ensure financial provision of the economic projects within the SCO.

"It is the creation of a special account of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and its development bank. The launch of these two mechanisms will allow to boost economic cooperation within the organization," S. Akhmetov noted.

The Kazakh Premier mentioned transit and transport as one of the most promising sectors for collaboration for the SCO member states. According to S. Akhmetov, it will increase the mutual sales turnover, bring closer the SCO member states' markets and expand transit freight traffic between Europe and Asia.

"In this respect, it is crucial to sign the agreement on international motor transportation within the organization," S. Akhmetov added.
