Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan to discuss cargo transit to Afghanistan

TASHKENT. February 24. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ Tripartite meetings of representatives of the ministries and departments of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, working in the railway transportations sector will begin in Tashkent Thursday. The issues of provision of continuous work of interstate division points are planned to be discussed within the meetings, Kazinform reports.

Kazakh delegation will be headed by managing director on traffic process of ?Kazakhstan Temir Zholy? National Company Kanat Almagambetov, Turkmen ? by Deputy Minister of Railway Transport Bairam Anamuradov, Uzbek ? by one of the heads of the State Joint-Stock Railway Company "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari". As is known, Kazakh grain, flour, metals, fuel and lubricants and other goods in the Afghan and Iranian directions are transported via Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In this regard, the issues of continuous transit of frieght trains through division points on the borders of the countries are very important. Besides, Uzbek trains transit divisions bears load on transit of not only Kazakh, but also Russian and Tajik goods to Afghanistan and Iran.
