Kazakhstan values cooperation with International Labor Organization - Secretary of State

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova has met today with Heinz Koller, the Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Office for Europe and Central Asia.

At the meeting, Ms Abdykalikova stressed that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to cooperation with this specialized UN agency and participates actively in the ILO major events on an annual basis. In particular, she emphasized the importance of the topics that will be raised at the upcoming 104th session of the International Labor Conference this June. According to the Akorda's press service, the sides touched upon further cooperation between Kazakhstan and the ILO in the sphere of work relations. Ms Abdykalikova went on to tell the guest about the 5 institutional reforms called to modernize state institutes, enhance efficiency of economic programs, improve public services and implement large-scale infrastructural projects initiated by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. She also paid utmost attention to the new economic policy "Nurly zhol - Path to the Future" which, in her words, will ensure sustainable growth of Kazakhstan's economy, preserve existing workplaces and create new jobs. In conclusion, Gulshara Abdykalikova and Heinz Koller also discussed the adoption of the National Action Plan on Youth Employment in Kazakhstan.
