Kazakhstan wins 5 medals at COPPA ITALIA mass start

On Day 2 of the COPPA ITALIA cross-country skiing mass start held December 16-17 in Sappada, the Kazakh team won five medals, Kazinform News Agency cites the winter sports Olympic training centre.

Maria Gerashchenko and Sultan Bazarbekov took silver, while Dastan Kalibekov secured bronze in the mass start classic, juniors. Violetta Mitripolskaya finished second in the U18 qualifying race.

Artyom Zaviyalov and Sabina Suleimenova also entered the Top 10.

COPPA ITALIA brought together 130 ski racers from Argentina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Serbia, and Slovenia.

Kazakhstan hauled six medals, including two gold, two silver, and two bronze at large.
