Kazakhstan claims first gold at II Turkic Universiade

The Kazakh women’s volleyball team defeated Kyrgyzstan 3:0 at the now-running II Turkic Universiade to bring the country the first gold, Kazinform News Agency reports quoting the Kazakh Science and Higher Education Ministry's press service. 

Kazakhstan also secured silver in futsal finals losing to Kyrgyz students 1:4.

Judo, table tennis, chess, freestyle wrestling, and volleyball competitions are to be held yet.

As earlier reported, the II Turkic Universiade kicked off in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, bringing together Kazakhstan, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.
