Kazakhstan Women's Congress kicks off in Astana

ASTANA. March 5. KAZINFORM Today the National Commission for Women Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the Kazakh President holds the Congress of Women of Kazakhstan with participation of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence and the International Women's Day, the press service of the Commission reports.

The main purpose of the Congress is to discuss the role of women in social, economic and political development of the country, define prospects for further development of the state gender and family-demographic policy, develop mechanisms of extending women's participation in Kazakhstan's strategic policy implementation.

Members of the National Commission for Women Affairs and Family - Demographic Policy under the Kazakh President, Parliament deputies, representatives of the state bodies, diplomatic missions, non-governmental and international organizations, political parties, mass media, outstanding public figures, sportswomen and our compatriots living in the CIS and non-CIS states are expected to take part in the Congress.

A resolution is planned to be adopted upon the results of the Congress.
