Kazakhstani boxer Kamshybek Kunkabayev out of 2024 Paris Olympics
Kazakhstani boxer Kamshybek Kunkabayev was knocked out of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris following his defeat in a Round of 32 match, Kazinform News Agency cites Olympic.kz.
Kazakhstan’s Kamshybek Kunkabayev lost to Ayoub Ghadfa of Spain by a 2-3 split decision in the men’s 92kg boxing event of Round of 32 of at the Games.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstani boxer Aslanbek Shymbergenov was handed a loss at the Paris Olympics.
The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is set to run from July 26 through August 11. The Games brought together 10,500 athletes from 206 national Olympic committees. Kazakhstan is represented by 80 athletes in 25 sports.
Team Kazakhstan has so far been placed 12th in the Paris Olympics medal standings with a total of three medals.
To note, 31-year-old Yeldos Smetov won Kazakhstan's first-ever Olympic judo gold medal at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics Games.
