Kazakhstani female boxer Nazym Kyzaibay reaches 2024 Olympics semifinal
Kazakhstan’s Nazym Kyzaibay has reached the semifinal of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Kazakhstani Nazym Kyzaibay beat Lorena Valencia of Colombia 3-2 in the women’s 50kg quarterfinal event at the ongoing Olympics in Paris.
The Kazakhstani is to take on next Wu Yu of China, the reigning world champion and 2022 Asian Games champion.
It’s the first time 30-year–old Kazakhstani Nazym Kyzaibay, two-time world champion (2014, 2016) and Asian champion, is taking part in Olympics Games.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstani boxers Saken Bibossynov and Karina Ibragimova were upset at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris are set to run from July 26 through August 11. The Games brought together 10,500 athletes from 206 national Olympic committees. Kazakhstan is represented by 80 athletes in 25 sports.
