“A total of 22 lawsuits have been filed against the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The first claim was withdrawn two weeks ago due to the applicant's receipt of a state grant. At present, only one active lawsuit remains. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 19. It should be noted that the applicant who filed the lawsuit received a scholarship from Narxoz University and a state grant. Therefore, we will put our arguments in front of the court," Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, stated.

According to him, the applicant received scholarship from the university back in July, after which he was provided with the state grant because of the redistribution of rejected grants.

“During the grant applications process, the applicant chooses four universities. A common allegation is that the applicant initially applied for the first university but ultimately received a grant for a different institution, either the second, third, or fourth university. This discrepancy is a result of the applicant's own decision,” the Minister said.

He also highlighted that the mechanism of grant distribution in Kazakhstan is quite transparent.
