Kazakhstani higher educational institutions popular among foreign students: S.Irsaliyev

ASTANA. August 21. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ "Kazakhstani higher educational institutions become more popular among foreigners", official representative of the Kazakh Ministry of Education and Science Serik Irsaliyev has said today at the briefing.

In accordance with the data of the Ministry, over nine thousand foreign students from 30 countries of the world studied in our country in 2005, while in 2008 the figure was over ten thousand students from 49 countries.

The Kazakhstani higher educational institutions gain the biggest popularity among the youth from Uzbekistan and China. Besides, over two thousand students from Russia study in Kazakhstan as well.

"Annual gratuitous contribution of the foreign partners to the development of educational system is up to USD 25 mln", S.Irsaliyev noted.
