Kazakhstani rescuers jet off to quake-stricken Afghanistan

 Kazakhstani rescuers have jetted off to Afghanistan in order to help the country eliminate the consequences of the Saturday deadly earthquake, Kazinform Agency reports. 

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Ministry of Emergencies to send the rescue team to quake-hit Afghanistan.

A total of 45 experienced rescuers and members of a canine squad, physicians and paramedics are on their way to Afghanistan. Some of them previously assisted in rectification of the consequences of the devastating earthquake recorded in Türkiye this February.

The rescue squad is led by acting chairman of the Civil Defense Committee of the ministry Ularbek Abykeyev.
