Kazakhstani shooter proposes to girlfriend at 2024 Paris Olympic Games
Kazakhstani shooter Konstantin Malinovsky popped the question to his girlfriend Arina Altukhova on his birthday, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Committee of Sports and Physical Education of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In the city of Châteauroux, located 300 kilometers from Paris, the most accomplished shooters from around the globe vie for medals. That day will definitely go down in history for the Kazakh team because of the heartwarming reason.
Konstantin Malinovsky, who represented the country at the 2024 Olympic Games for the first time, proposed to his girlfriend Arina Altukhova on his birthday. Though greatly surprised, Arina didn’t hesitate to say the coveted ‘yes’.
The couple took their three and a half year romance to a new level, making the Paris Olympics an unforgettable occasion.
Malinovsky earned a license to the Paris Olympics last November at the Asian Championships in South Korea. The day before, Arina Altukhova claimed her quota by finishing 3rd in the 50m shooting event. Konstantin says that since then he has made every effort to go to the Olympics in Paris and to propose to Arina.
“I got my license at the Asian Championships in South Korea. I had prepared thoroughly for this competition. When my girlfriend Arina got her license, I thought to myself: I can do it too. I should keep up with her," he said.
“After the end of the competition, we were strolling around the city. When we were in the park, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Konstantin on his knee with a ring. It will be a moment I will remember forever... Right now I am happy," Arina Altukhova added.
