Kazakhstani tennis player finishes his career
A formal farewell of Andrey Golubev, the Kazakh tennis player, was held at the National Tennis Center (Beeline Arena) in Astana, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the press service of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation (KTF).
Andrey Golubev, 37, officially finished his professional tennis career in his home country. Vice-President of the KTF, Dias Doskaraev, highlighted Golubev's significant contributions to the advancement and promotion of Kazakhstan’s tennis.
During the ceremony, the athlete thanked the federation, his rivals, family, and fans.
"First of all, I would like to thank my family and parents for their unwavering support and belief in me throughout my career. I am immensely grateful and proud to have brought victories to Kazakhstan. I would also like to thank my fans for their unwavering belief and support," Andrey Golubev said.
During his career, Andrey achieved 33rd spot in a single ranking and 21st position in his double ranking. He was a participant at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and won gold at the 2014 Asian Games in team events. Andrey is a finalist of one Grand Slam Men's doubles tournament at the French Open-2021 and a winner of two ATP tournaments.
