Kazakhstani tennis player to vie for gold at ITF Dominican Republic 10A finals

World No. 151 Zhibek Kulambayeva of Kazakhstan advanced to the Women’s Doubles finals at the ITF Dominican Republic 10A in Punta Cana, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Paired with Indian Sahaja Yamalapalli, the Kazakh tennis player stunned Colombia’s Maria Herazo Gonzalez and Francesca Pace of Italy in the Women’s Doubles semifinal. Kulambayeva and Yamalapalli won the bout in two sets with a score of 6:4, 6:4.

The Kazakh-Indian duo will play against Ariana Arseneault and Kayla Cross in the Women’s Doubles finals.

The ITF Dominican Republic 10A, Women Doubles consists of random number of rounds. The player with the most wins becomes the champion of the competition.
