Kazakhstani university becomes member of World University Consortium

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has become a full-fledged member of the World University Consortium (WUC). The most prominent university in Kazakhstan and acknowledged leader in higher education, it has once again proved its flagship status and compliance with the highest international standards, the university's press service says.

The World University Consortium brings under one roof the top-ranking higher educational institutions and international organizations in the field science and education. The WUC's mission is to evolve and promote development of accessible, affordable, quality higher education worldwide. The Consortium strives to shift focus to enhancing students' potential. It is worth mentioning that only one university can represent a country in the Consortium. The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is the first and only higher educational institution in Central Asia that has been honored with the WUC membership. By joining the Consortium, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has become partners with such prestigious organizations as Foundation for Culture and Peace, Green Cross International, International Association of University Presidents, Institute of Cultural Diplomacy, Person-Centered Approach University, Library of Alexandria, The Mother's Service Society, The World Academy of Art & Science, and Inter-University Centre.
