Kazakhstani women form about 40% of country's GDP: President

ASTANA. March 5. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "The Kazakh women form about 40% of the country's GDP," President of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev said at the Congress of Women of Kazakhstan.

"The dynamic women entrepreneurship became a real sector of the Kazakh economy. Many of you have passed the long way of establishment of the domestic business," the President said.

"According to the statistics, the Kazakh women form about 40% of the country's GDP. This rate in constantly increasing due to extension of the economic potential of women's entrepreneurship", N.Nazarbayev added.

The President has noted that women work in all important spheres of Kazakhstan's economy. Women make 73% of country's teachers, 87% of doctors and medical workers, 60% of public sector employees.

"I am grateful to all women for their selfless work for the benefit of the country and our people," the Head of State resumed.
