Kazakhstani young writers and poets honored with presidential literature prize

Almaty hosted today a solemn meeting with Kazakh culture and information minister Aida Balayeva handing over the special presidential literature prize to young writers and poets, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Ministry. 

The event brought together prominent poets, writers, and culture figures.

Kazakh culture and information minister Aida Balayeva stressed that the state actively support writers and poets through publication of their works.

Thus, as part of the program of purchase, publication and distribution of socially significant books, works of domestic writers are published. Over the past two years, Kazakhstan’s literary fund has been replenished with over 300 new works.

The best works in the field of literature and art hugely contributing to the development of culture are awarded with the Abai state prize as well as the Aiboz national literary prize.

In 2023, the special presidential literature prize to provide state support to young writers and poets, form a new generation of talented poets and writers was established.

A total of 53 authors, including 17 in the children’s literature nomination, nine in drama nomination, 13 in poetry, and 14 in prose, submitted their works.

The minister presented the winners of the special presidential literature prize for young writers and poets diplomas, badges, and monetary rewards.
