Kazakhstan’s Abai region observes steady growth in social and economic development
Abai region’s short-term economic indicator stood at 105.3% in the nine months of the present year, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Construction was up by 131.6%, manufacturing – 102.6%, domestic trade – 110.5%, agriculture – 106.4% and investment – 100.5%, said Nurlan Urankhayev, governor of Abai region, at a briefing on the region’s social and economic development in the nine months of this year.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 237,100 square meters of housing have been commissioned in the region, a 117.4% increase, providing 2,000 families with housing.
The average monthly salary rose 12.3% to KZT340,200 in Abai region in the second quarter of the current year. The region accounted for 2% of the state budget revenues in the nine months of 2024.
The region’s contribution to the state budget as of October 1, 2024, stood at 294.9 billion tenge worth of taxes and other obligatory payments, including 197.1 billion tenge to the republican budget, a 2fold increase, and 97.8 billion tenge to the local budget, a 126.5% rise, said Urankhayev.
This year’s budget of Abai region stands at 480.8 billion tenge, including 135.5 billion tenge in the region’s own revenue, a 120.9% growth compared with 2023.
