Kazakhstan’s Bublik upset at Australian Open 2025

World No. 37 Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan suffered a defeat at the start of the Australian Open 2025 at Melbourne Park, Kazinform News Agency cites Sports.kz.

Kazakhstan’s Bublik clashed with Francisco Cerundolo (ranked 31st) of Argentina in the opening match of the tournament. The Argentine tennis player outperformed Bublik, beating him with a score of 7:6, 6:3, 6:2 in three sets. The match lasted one hour and fifty-one minutes.

Francisco’s next opponent will be the winner of the showdown between Facundo Diaz Acosta of Argentina and Zizou Bergs of Belgium.
