Kazakhstan’s Chshigolev skates to gold at ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships in Japan
Vitaliy Chshigolev sensationally claimed gold at the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championships in Hachinohe city, Japan on Sunday, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Chshigolev clocked the Mass Start Men event in 8:22.05 leaving behind two Canadian speed skaters. David La Rue of Canada was the second to cross the finish line in 8:22.13. Canadian Hayden Mayeur settled for bronze, finishing seconds behind his compatriot.
Earlier the Kazakh speed skaters earned silver and bronze at the event. Nadezhda Morozova of Kazakhstan hauled silver in 1000m Women event on Sunday as well and the Kazakh squad collected bronze in the Team Sprint Women event on November 15.
