Kazakhstan’s exports amount to $68.5bn in 10 months

Kazakhstan’s external trade turnover has totaled at 116.9 billion US dollars, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov said, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

In January-October this year, the external trade turnover stood at 116.9 billion US dollars, with exports accounting for 68.5 billion US dollars, including the export of processed goods – 23.3 billion US dollars. The country’s imports were estimated at 48.4 billion US dollars. The positive balance of trade rose 33.4% to 20.1 billion US dollars, said Baibazarov.

According to him, the manufacturing output showed a growth of up to 5.3%, with Kyzylorda, Mangistau, Turkestan and Karaganda regions reporting the highest growths.

The strong output growth was attributable to 7.2% and 6.9% increases in metallurgy and mechanical engineering sectors. Besides, the chemical industry rose 8.4%, pharmacy – 21%, food production – 2.1%, metal production – 29.5% and furniture production – 12.8%. However, the country’s mining industry slowed down to 0.1% due to oil and natural gas production cuts by 2% and 0.3%. The country’s metal ores and coal production rose 7.9% and 1.9%, respectively, he added.

Earlier, Baibazarov said that in January-November 2024, Kazakhstan’s economic growth was estimated at 4.4%.
