Kazakhstan’s film Aikai wins Best Script award at Int’l Film Festival in Spain
Kazakhstan’s film Aikai was announced the winner of the Best Script award among 90 entries at the 23rd ImagineIndia international festival in Spain, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry.
The shooting of the film was possible thanks to the support of the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry as well as the Center for Support of National Cinema.
The film Aikai depicts the fate of the victims of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site and the aftermath of nuclear explosions, leaving an indelible scar in the lives of many people. The issues brought up in the film resonated among viewers and critics, which led to such success.
Directed by Kenzhebek Shaikakov, the film was shot in the picturesque village of Shingozha in Ayagoz district, Abai region. The film stars Orynbek Shaimaganbetov, Arnur Akram, Yerbolat Alkozha, Beinur Baimukhambetov, Yerlan Malayev, Aibek Imankulov and Aiganym Nursultan.
The success of Aikai film emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and demonstrates the significance of making stories related to social and environmental challenges, added the Kazakh Culture and Information Ministry.
