Kazakhstan's Flag raised at Medeu Skating Rink in Almaty in honor of Republic Day
On the occasion of celebration of the Republic Day, a ceremony of raising the National Flag of Kazakhstan took place at the Medeu ice rink in Almaty. Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dossayev, public figures, local maslikhat deputies, representatives of non-governmental and youth organizations, as well as citizens participated in the event, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The ceremony of raising the National Flag was traditionally accompanied with the National Anthem, performed by military brass band. The size of the flag is 98 square meters, and the height of the spire is 40 meters.
On the eve of the Republic Day, akim of Almaty, Yerbolat Dosayev, on behalf of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, awarded the residents who had significantly contributed to the country’s socio-economic and cultural-spiritual development. In addition, a festive concert was held at the Palace of the Republic.
Dedicated to the National Holiday, a drone show will be held in Almaty today. Over 500 drones will take off on Abai Square at 9:00 pm in Almaty, while an air show in Astana will take place at 9:30 pm. The drones will create 3D visuals symbolizing elements of national culture and significant moments in the country's history. All visual effects will be synchronized to music, emphasizing the spirit of national unity and pride.
On top of that, a festive architectural illumination in honor of the Republic Day will be switched on at the Kok-Tobe TV tower at 8:00 pm. Recall that the ceremonial connection of the architectural illumination of the TV tower took place on August 30 and forms part of the renewed lighting of one of the symbols of Almaty.
Today, October 25, Kazakhstanis celebrate one of the most important dates in the history of the country, Republic Day.
Earlier, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the nation of Kazakhstan on the Republic Day.
The President participated in the National Flag raising ceremony dedicated to the Republic Day.
