In recent years, the NBK has issued many interesting and artistic coins, each dedicated to important historical and cultural themes. Kazinform News Agency invites readers to learn more about these remarkable releases.
The design of the next coin uses an image of the monument to Khan Jochi. Its author is the Kazakh sculptor Gaziz Eshkenov. On the reverse side is a collage of coins from the Golden Horde era.
The NBK has also issued several collectible series of coins dedicated to animals that play an important role in the life and culture of the Kazakh people.
For Kazakhs in the desert, the camel is irreplaceable - it is a breadwinner, a carrier of goods, and a symbol of prosperity.
Kokbori (heavenly wolf) is one of the main totem animals in the view of the Proto-Turks. In the beliefs of nomadic peoples, the wolf was considered one of the most significant symbols associated with the sky.
The silver kiiz ui (yurt) coins with denominations of 500 and 5,000 tenge belong to the series of coins "Treasures of the Steppe".
The design of the coins embodies the idea of the infinity of the yurt space and the place of the nomad's universe in it.
Different nations have their own revered trees, considered sacred. Each of them has its own legend. For the Japanese it is sakura, for Europeans it is oak, for Indians it is sequoia, for Africans it is baobab. For ancient nomads, such a tree, which was worshiped and considered sacred, was considered turanga (Populus section Turanga).
In addition, one of the unique series of coins is dedicated to the Kazakh intellectual board game that develops logical thinking – Togyzkumalak.
