Kazakhstan’s IT export to exceed USD 500 mln, Digital Development Ministry

Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Minister Bagdat Mussin, representatives of the leading IT exporters took part in the roundtable discussions, Kazinorm News Agency learnt from the Ministry’s press service.

Those attending debated the current issues of the Astama Hub residents and suggestions for further development of the country’s IT ecosystem.

The Minister noted the significance of the export of IT services and highlighted pressing issues related to the development of the IT market. Those present outlined further steps prioritizing cooperation between the state and private sectors for further sustainable development.

As of now the country’s IT exports show vigorous growth. In 2020 the IT exports of Kazakhstan made 30 million US dollars, in 2023 it is projected to exceed 500 million US dollars. It means IT exports have grown almost 20 times in the past 3 years.

In his state-of-the-nation address the Head of State set a task to raise exports of IT services by 1 billion US dollars by 2026 and make Kazakhstan a centre of attraction for digital nomads. He noted in the last few years Kazakhstan made a breakthrough in the development of the IT sector. The country attracts the world’s large companies and investors and creates favorable conditions for local startups.
